Why Tint Your Car Windows?

Professional window tinting is one of the most popular upgrades in Ireland — and for good reason. A quality tint blocks up to 99% of UV rays, rejects heat, reduces glare, increases privacy and gives your car a premium finish that keeps its value for years.

At Saturn Styling in Duleek, Co. Meath, we've fitted thousands of tint jobs on everything from Tesla Model 3s to family SUVs. Every install comes with a manufacturer-backed warranty against bubbling, peeling and colour fade — 1 year on Performance film, 5 years on Savvy Ceramic.

Irish Tinting Law — Legal VLT Limits

Under Irish road traffic regulations, front side windows must let in at least 65% Visible Light Transmission (VLT), and the windscreen must remain untinted (aside from a factory-applied strip at the very top). The rear side windows and rear windscreen have no restriction — you can go as dark as 5% VLT if you want that limo look.

We only fit films that comply with Irish law on the front and will happily talk you through the best combination for your car.

The Two Films We Fit

  • Savvy Ceramic Tint — the premium option. Blocks over 90% of infra-red heat, doesn't interfere with GPS/phone signal, and is backed by a 5-year warranty against bubbling, peeling and colour fade. Our most popular choice for daily drivers and commercial vehicles.
  • Performance Tint — a solid, hard-wearing film at a friendlier entry price. Strong heat and UV rejection, matte black finish that never turns purple, and a 1-year warranty. Perfect if you want the look and privacy without stepping up to ceramic.

How Long Does Tinting Take?

A full car takes 3–4 hours in the shop. Every panel is cut to the exact glass curvature and heat-shrunk into shape, so you get a factory-finish look every time — no gaps, no bubbles, just perfection.

Aftercare — The First Week

The essentials for the first week:

  • Keep the windows up for 3–5 days — rolling them down before the film cures can peel the edges.
  • Don't clean the inside of the glass for 7 days.
  • Any haze or small water pockets clear within 2 weeks as the film cures.
  • After the first week, clean the inside of the tinted glass with an ammonia-free glass cleaner and a soft microfibre only.
